Situated in the heart of Southampton, we are connected by an extensive network of bus routes. Combined with our close location to Southampton train station and local cycle and walking routes, the college is extremely accessible no matter where you are coming to us from!

COLLEGE BUS

Our 903 bus service covers the Hythe and Waterside area. You can catch this for free on Friday 28 June by showing your Applicant Week letter.

RTSFC SHUTTLE BUS

Southampton Train Station - Red Funnel Terminal - WestQuay - RTSFC

If you live anywhere else in Southampton all you need to do is get into the centre or the trainstation and hop on our free shuttle bus from three different stops across Southampton centre. 

Just wait at the bus stop, and the RTFSC minibus will pick you up and drop you up right outside the college.

LOCAL BUS ROUTES

We are well connected by numerous local bus routes. For a detailed route planner from your home address on public transport (including bus and train times) take a look at use Traveline or MyJourney Southampton.

WALK

Richard Taunton is easily accessible by walking. We are a 10-15 minute walk from Southampton Common and Shirley High Street, and a 30 minute walk from Southampton Central train station. We encourage students to keep active and help the environment by walking to college.

CYCLE

Cycling is a popular form of transport to and from college. We have a secure bike compound to store bikes, plus showers and changing facilities located in the Sports department.

TRAIN

Southampton Central is the nearest train station to college, with direct routes from Totton, Eastleigh, Romsey and Winchester.

From the train station, students can catch our Shuttle Bus to college. Alternatively, the college is a 30 minute walk from the station.

ISLE OF WIGHT

We offer a free shuttle service for students catching the ferry from the Isle of Wight. The service can pick you up from the Town Quay where the Red Jet Terminal is situated. 

This service has pick-up times at 8:00am, 8:15am and 8:30am. Please contact our Admissions Team if you have any questions regarding our shuttle service. admissions@richardtaunton.ac.uk 

CAR

We are easily accessible by car via local routes and nearby motorway links at the Chilworth interchange M27 (J4)/ M3 (J14). 


Whilst the college is conveniently located for parking, we must be respectful to our neighbours and encourage parking within the college to reduce street congestion.
